Help a community during COVID-19

Update posted by Nicole Meier Alegre On Jun 11, 2020

Hi everyone,

I received some requests to leave the fundraising for a longer amount of time to receive some additional donations. For this reason, the fundraising will be extended until the end of the month to achieve two date targets.

In order to alleviate food and sanitizing products needs as fast as possible in the community, donations received until Sunday will be used to purchase needed food products and hand soap to support each family's health through nutrition and the promotion of hand-washing to prevent the spread of COVID-19, in addition to the confection of COVID-19 washable fabric masks through the added donation of a second-hand sewing machine.

Donations that will be received after Sunday, will be directed to purchase sewing material such as fabric to facilitate the confection of effective masks.

This is a cost-effective and sustainable alternative for the community to protect themselves from COVID-19 within the community, and will be lead by and empower groups of community women to have a potential income source through COVID-19 masks selling.

I am truly and dearly thankful for your support, and I send you my warmest regards, :)

Please, do not hesitate to contact me for any further questions.

Nicole

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the unstoppable human spirit that we demonstrate through your support! We have reached 2 impressive milestones, and are close to reaching a third one for the well-being of an entire community of 170 families. THANK YOU so much for making this possible, without you, this initiative could not have happened.

We are now able to donate: Rice, lentils, and soap, and by reaching target 3, could also include beans and baby formula!

Thank you again so much for all your support,

Most sincere gratitude,

Nicole

Huge act of generosity! THANK YOU SO MUCH, we reached target 1 together today!!! Thanks to your support, the Ipeti Embera community will have access to bags of rice and lentils!! If we manage to reach target 2 (US$ 1500), we will be able to provide the community with rice, lentils and very needed hand soap, which can help preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Any additional open donations will be welcome and very much appreciated by the community. Thank you dearly for all your support! Change is built thanks to all of us, and today, YOU are an active member of that change. Sending you all my warmest regards, wishes of good health, and our most sincere gratitude!
