Heather’s Super Hear-O

October 13,2017 God blessed us with such a wonderful daughter we call her Heather. In her early months she was very responsive and attentive mostly when we asked her to do something,she's also intelligent that she can easily recognized every family members and friends. We thought everything was okay. But as she grew older we notice that sometimes she' unresponsive when we call her and also her speech was also delayed. We are also worried since she'll be turning 2 though we know that some toddler are also delayed in their speech but we want to be sure thats why we ask her pedia Dr Venzon what the best thing to do for heather, so she referred us Pedia Development to have further assessment for heather and last July 2019(teleconsult since pandemic) and unfortunately she was diagnosed with AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER with Language Impairment (ASD) and she advice us to have O.T Asap.At first we were surprised by the result of the check up, because we knew that the only problem was her speech delay. I asked myself what happened to her,knowing that my pregnancy was okay and the only problem was contration my OB advice me to have an early bedrest.I also red those medication that i have during my pregnancy and it's all safe,no side effect for the baby

To be honest I also blame myself for what happened to my daughter though were still clueless,since we dnt know what the cause. I cried alot and I asked the Lord why those things happened to my daughter,I am terrified that when Im gone who will take care of her. Im holding on to his verse (Jeremiah 29:11)(Joshua 1:9)

We did not stop there, yes we followed the recommendation of the Pedia Dev to have O.T but even the therapist was surprised that heather was able to follow in activities and she knew how to eat alone and to dress by herself in which that's the primary goal of O.T. We also asked for second opinion from Pedia Dev last Aug 2020(pandemic teleconsult) after several check up and last 2021 she told us that we need to undergo therapy speech/O.T but first we need to rule out her hearing test before we can say that it is ASD or just a hearing problem. From that moment we claimed that Heather is normal (Mark 11:24). Unfortunately due to pandemic and strict protocol they dnt accept procedure. And its been a year after we had our last checked up to Ent so we asked for schedule last march 25 with Doc Navalta and we asked for new request for BAER test and he told us whatever the result is,He will advise us for our next step, luckily march 26 were able to have her Baer test at TMC and 3 days after, the result came out that Heather has a Profound Hearing loss on her Left Ear and Severe Hearing loss on her Right Ear. Doc Navalta immediately referred us to Doc Llanes in which he told us the possibilities in Heather's condition, we need to do all the test Asap since her age is very crucial and we are in a hurry before she turns 5. He requested for ASSR and Praise God we have it last(April 11) they told us that the result may be released 2-3 days after,unfortunately we cant have her check up on April 12 on Ent-Audio since we are expecting the release maybe on friday,but God is good the result came out surprisingly (April 12)she has Profound on her both ear. Since holy week we knew we cant make it this week though I tried call other affiliated hospital and Amen we had our check up(April13) to her Ent-Audiologist Doctor Quintos indeed God make a way for my daughter, I know all throughout our journey the Lord is with us and we are also blessed that the doctor did not ask us for her PF. Dra told us that heather need to have a hearing aid Asap for 3 months and 2 weeks after once she has her hearing aid she need to undergo speech therapy at the same time.

Heather's age is now in the gray area according to the doctor and we need to act fast before she turns 5 on October.

We are now starting her High power Hearing Aid for her hearing stimulation together with her speech therapy session for her speech evaluation and auditory verbal assessment this June. This fund raising campaign in preparation of her Bilateral Cochlear Implant a small electronic device that electrically stimulates the cochlear nerve, this nerves is responsible for hearing which approximately cost P1M to P1.5M per ear.While waiting for the fund she need to continue to wear high power hearing aid for her hearing stimulation.Mapping session and speech therapy is needed after surgery.

Today will be the stepping stone for Heather's hearing journey. We are not sure of what will happen after 2 months knowing God is with us nothing is impossible. We are claiming that the Lord will do miracle for my daughter.We surrender everything to the Lord emotionally, spiritually and financially. I pray that he will sustain and provide everything for my daughter's need. We humbly ask your prayer and support for Heather's hearing journey. I know God has a plan for everything. Prayers Can move mountain.
