Her Story:

My Mom (Flor) was very healthy and hard working until her body became unusual. She started to have bruises on different parts of her body and her weight dropped abnormally until we found out that she has Chronic Kidney Disease. It was in first quarter of year 2018 when was diagnosed with CKD and she is on her 5th stage by that time.

We went back and forth at National Kidney and Transplant Institute (public) in Quezon and San Juan De Dios Hospital (private) for her check-ups and medications. It was SJDH who advised My Mom to start her dialysis based on the tests they made for My Mom (Flor). My Mom (Flor) got her first fistula in NKTI (public) as preparation for herself to undergo dialysis. My parents got it in NKTI because we know that it is public so we do not have to worry about expensive bills for this medical procedure. My Mom (Flor) was then confined to SJDH (private) because we want her to have a quality health service for the treatment, she is been preparing for despite of expensive bills we have to pay. It was only 1-2 months (if I could remember) of confinement because my father does not know where he could possibly get money to pay for the hospital bills. He started to get pile of credit receipts.

After months of confinement, when my Mom’s doctor allowed my Mom to be at home. We transferred her dialysis treatment to Pasay City General Hospital (public) because My father could not afford the 4,000 pesos worth of Dialysis in SJDH that she has to take 3 times a week (12,000 pesos /$ 600,000).

The early months of dialysis treatment was easy but it gets harder and harder as time goes by and my Mom’s condition gradually worsens. The public hospital that she is into could not give the kind of quality health service that she needs.

My Mom (being in public hospital) commonly get 2 dialysis treatment a week and it of course gives huge impact for her health and the way she lives. She feels different kinds heavy distress whenever she gets 2 or less dialysis treatment. Its occasional for her to get 3 dialysis treatments a week because the center has to ensure the number of slots for the dialysis patients will be enough.

Today, My Mom continue to lose weight and gain different kinds of illnesses. Her chest pains due to her pneumonia occurs more frequently.

On her latest check-up, the Doctor advised her that must be confined in the hospital AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Her condition is severe and has to be monitored.

I am humbly asking for your help to fund the confinement of my Mom and her other health needs especially her dialysis treatment.

P.s. She missed 2 dialysis treatments now, they won't allow her to take because of the condition of her heart. There were no available doctors in the hospital (Pasay Gen) to check her because they are prioritizing COVID19 patients. Please help my family to have fund and to look for private clinics that will help and check the condition of my Mom.
