Campaign Story
The children admitted into St. Francis Referral Hospital in Ifakara, Tanzania for illnesses and injuries that require long-term stay are often unable to continue attending school. As a result, they fall behind in their studies and upon their release are either unable to catch up to their peers, are forced to repeat the year or drop out of school all together.
We are raising money to help put an end to this by providing children at St. Francis Referral Hospital with access to teachers, tutors and books during their stay. Currently, there are approximately 50 children in the surgical unit whom need such specialized services.
The money will go directly into purchasing books, textbooks and other educational supplies as well as paying for the transportation costs of teachers and tutors. also this will be used to support provision of health care service.
Education is a basic human right and with your help we can ensure that sick children continue to have access to this right despite their circumstances. This program will give children who are sick the opportunity to continue going to school as well as reduce drop-out rates in the region.
