AIn 2018 I found alone in our garden a beautiful liitle kitty..since he was without his mother I took him in my house and fed him...My husband and I loved him at once and since then we are together. At the same time we had lost my mother in law and we had a misfortune pregnancy so we gave him all of our love and care..We named him Rakia and he was always with us. When he was about 5months old we moved to a new house and one day after two months we were living there, I went out in our yard to search for him but couldn't find him..I was looking for him for three days day and night and unfortunately I found him the third day hitted by car on the road in front of my house. He listened of my car and start crying and I immediately took him to the doctor in very bad condition. The doctor told us that his is almost dying and there is no point of save him because many of his bones have been broken as well as his testicles have been damaged. He put him an intravenous injection and the x-ray showed spine and hip fracture. We decided with my husband to give him a surgery and give him a chance in life. He already couldn't move his back legs and the surgeon told us that he probably couldn't walk again with his back legs.

Our permanent house is in a district town of Greece in Mesolonghi and the surgery took place in the island of Lefkada. The movement as well as the surgeries and the reviews of his health cost more than 1000 euros at that time... After the surgeries his care was very demanding and specialized. As both of my husband and I are nurses we knew a lot of how to take care of him but he needed many consumables such us diapers, special food for sterilized cats, bandages for his back legs etc.

After some months he showed no improvement thats why we decided to took him for physiotherapies in order to help him more. The physiotherapies for animals was given only by one doctor 200km away from us...that led to many expenses more than 100euros each time for shipping expenses plus 40euros of physiotherapist's payment which in summary was more than 1000euros... As we didn't saw any improvement after some months of therapy we stopped trying.

In 2021 our son was born and the needs of our family as well as our love and happiness growth..If we keep in mind the financial crisis in Greece, the Covid pandemic and the reduce of our salaries we started to have financial problems.. Rakias has at least 100 euros expenses each month in order to have a good quality of life. He needs diapers and bandages every day in order to take him out in the garden and not hurt his back legs. He also needs a wheel chair but unfortunately cannot afford to buy one. We do not want to give him euthanasia because we love him and we care for him..After all he gave us hope when we needed it the most when we found him.

So, we will appreciate to give us as much help as you can in order to be able to give Rakia the life he deserves!

Thank you so much in advance! We are grateful even for reading our story!

With most appreciation
