The Story

Our busy lives make it hard for us to have time for exercise and keep fit. Even if you have the weekend for yourself, often times it’s not enough and difficult to keep yourself motivated and consistently keep fit. Despite this, we realize that most people are tech savvy and are already physically active due to their daily schedule. Besides that, most of them are willing to invest in fitness gadgets. Hence, we could see more people buying VR sets like PSVR and Oculus Quest 2 as well as consoles like Nintendo Switch to play those fun fitness games to keep themselves fit. However, let's admit it, these options are either too expensive or not truly mobile.

With that in mind, we came up with an idea to create GoGerak, an affordable and fun way that helps you to keep yourself fit, anytime, anywhere.

The Solution

GoGerak was created to offer you a fun alternative to your workout with our multiple selection of fitness-related games, while helping you minimize the amount of money you spend by providing affordable motion controllers that you can use on your phone. In other words, GoGerak transforms your smartphone into a console — there is no need for you to get other expensive consoles or separate gadgets anymore.

GoGerak can be your ultimate on-the-go gym for lesser than the 1/5th of the cost of the consoles in the market now!

The Games / App

Most fitness games or apps that we can get on our smartphones nowadays usually do not involve full body movement and interactivity but rather focuses mainly on finger movements and interactions. Despite that, the issues are solved by games such as Ringfit Adventures and Fitness Boxing on Nintendo Switch or Beat Saber and BoxVR that are available on VR sets such as PSVR or Oculus Quest 2. However, this came at a huge burden on your pockets.

That's why we will release such games for your smartphones to make it more affordable.

But hey, this doesn't mean that you need to throw away the consoles that you already own or spend more money to get our controllers. We will also make our games available for most of the consoles that are already on the market. And if you are worried that the size of your screen might be too small, rest assure that we got you covered as you can freely cast it to either your smart TV, laptops or desktop.

The Motion Controllers

All controllers for smartphones do not detect any motion. And those that have such features are usually not compatible with any smartphone. Plus, these controllers will also require you to pair it with their own expensive consoles. Take a look at Joy-Con for Nintendo Switch or maybe Quest 2 Controllers for Oculus Quest 2. They all mainly work for their specific consoles only.

That's why we came up with our own motion controller that's affordable for everyone and can be connected to your smartphones and even laptops.

The Timeline

We are currently working on the prototype of the motion controllers and have further improved our initial design. Simultaneously, we are also developing our first game as the preview / demo to our concept. This is only part of the current progress for our Stage 1. If everything goes as planned, we are expecting to first publish our games to Oculus Store, Playstation Store and Steam by Jan 2022 and start the production of the motion controllers at the same time. The mobile version of our games are expected to be released in March 2022 together with the commercialization of the motion controllers.

Jan 2022:

• Publish games to current marketplace for your favorite consoles (Oculus Quest 2, Playstation 5, etc...)
• Start the production of motion controllers

Mar 2022:

• Publish games to Play Store and App Store
• Commercialization of motion controllers

The Ask

This campaign will help to fund us and allow the continuation of our progress with the development and provide a little extra fund to start digital and social media marketing campaigns for brand awareness. We are looking at RM 10,000 (≈ USD 2,500) to fund our development operation for at least 3 months. Of course, having more funds would allow us to get some extra help and work faster in commercializing what we have to offer. Of course, it would be ideal for us to get into the market as soon as possible.

The Future

We don't want to only stop with just commercializing the game and controller that we have developed in Stage 1. In fact, we already have the future in mind.

In Stage 2, we will be implementing the AR features to our games and potentially start to work on the MR aspect of it as well as developing our own take of VR headset. Not only that, we also planned to invite other game developers to use develop their games to use our controllers.

In Stage 3, we are going to release our VR headset and implement motion tracking feature to it too for better MR experience. Not only that, we also plan to ride on the blockchain technology and make our games one of the way people can earn from, in this case, by exercising. We also believe that this will be a good plan to make ourselves sticky.

The Team

GoGerak is a business with multiple generations involved. The older ones have over 20 years of combined management & commercialization experience while the younger ones are really tech-savvy and smart. So, we make a good team to tackle the problems from different perspective.
