Campaign Story
Give Love To The Twins (Lucho & Matteo)
Hi, my name is Joanne, mother of the twins. First of all we want to show gratitude for taking time to take a look at our go fund me page. We welcome all the donations, nothing is ever too small, and a peso can go a long way.
I was admitted and gave birth unexpectedly on an emergency Caesarian Section (CS) last June 10, 2020. The twins are only on their 28 weeks weighing only 1380g (Twin A) & 1095g (Twin B) which is considered to be extremely underweight and premature babies. Upon birth, the twins were immediately intubated due to difficulty in breathing (alar flaring, tachypnea and deep intercostal and subcostal retractions).
The doctors tried to extubate the twins several times trying to see if they could already breathe on their own, but it seems their lungs are still underdeveloped and does not have much muscle yet to keep him breathing at a steady rate without the help of a ventilator they also shifted antibiotics .
My husband and I have regular jobs but due to the pandemic, we are on a NO WORK NO PAY status. We are advised that the twins might need to stay in the NICU for four (4) more weeks or until they are ready or stable enough to join us in our home. The hospital bill was just too expensive that we are having a hard time coping up with the expenses. After two (3) weeks/ 17 days in the NICU. Our bill is now raging One Million One Hundred None Thousand and one forty seven pesos and 26/100 (PHP 1,109,147.26) not including Doctor Fees. The twin’s condition requires them to be continually checked by a Pediatrician, a Neonatologist, a Pediatric Endocrinologist, an Ophthalmologist, an ENT doctor and a Pediatric Surgeon.
I was discharged last 13 June 2020, as my first day being at home, it was heartbreaking to think that I have no choice but to leave the twins in the NICU. Yet through these difficult times me and my family tries its very best to stay strong and positive.
We are determined to do anything to keep our twins alive. Lucho and Matteo is a fighter and we will fight for and with them too. We are seeking the goodness of family, friends and good souls like you that might be willing to help. Your donations will help us, especially the twins, tremendously.
