Give Urgent Medical Care to a Dedicated Yoga Monk

Update posted by Dada Subuddhyananda On Sep 29, 2020

Dada does a bit better each day.

His stitches are still not out, but Dada sits upright and, with some effort, stands up alone. Taking tentative steps like a baby, he walks unaided. Certainly he needs physiotherapy and prescribed exercise over some weeks, but doctors believe it’s possible to recover his full mobility.

Dada’s vision is improving. He guides others how to cook. After not eating for days, his appetite is returning. Of course, simple, healthy food is all he can have now.

Medications effectively control his blood pressure and blood sugar; however, side-effects make sleep difficult, so Dada is confused at times and suffers from poor memory.

Yesterday, the laboratory took samples for a kidney test to determine the best treatment and medications.

As a result of everyone’s support, there is a big turnaround in Dada’s condition. He realizes he has many friends and has renewed hope for the future.

Help provide the medical follow-up Dada needs to get back to teaching and sharing his spirituality.

Several years ago, when Dada last visited Lebanon, we found a beautiful spot nearby. After teaching classes during the day, he would ask to go 'meadowing’.

You can provide Dada the medical support he needs to get back on his feet again.

Dada’s spirits are lifted now that he’s back in the yoga office environment and each day he's making noticeable physical improvement.

Doctors analyzing his brain MRI following the operation predicted he could learn to walk again. Amazingly, with daily efforts, he is starting to be able to take some steps on his own. We are sure that working with a specialist physiotherapist will accelerate his progress.

Thanks to Radha from the UK and Kamala in Malta, Dada has homeopathic remedies for recovery from the trauma of surgery. He is also prescribed many allopathic drugs, including insulin to reduce his blood sugar and kidney medication.

Within a week he has to make a kidney test. Many other post-operative tests also must be performed.

Dada is most thankful for all your support, which has offered him life-saving surgery and placed someone by his side.

Help clear Dada’s surgery costs, engage a physiotherapist, and get him the vital tests and medications he still needs.

I remember when Dada visited our education project in Lebanon and how much the Syrian refugee children loved him.

Thanks to everyone's help, Dada Prabhakarananda is doing well. Especially considering all he has been through.

Following his bypass operation, he stayed some days in intensive care. Doctors report Dada had experienced a brain stroke at some stage, which eventually caused his collapse on September 8. He was given some hospital physiotherapy sessions and began to be able to take a few steps with the help of others. They believe with proper medication and continually trying to walk Dada can recover over time. So we want to consult a specialist neurologist and physiotherapist as soon as possible.

On Sunday Dada P was released from hospital and brought back to the office by Dada Vanivratananda, who has flown from Italy to help and be with him at this time.

Dada P was very happy to be out. He's speaking normally again and listening to music.

Help get Dada the specialist treatment and medication he needs to make a full recovery!

Acharyas should have medical insurance!!! Not providing that by their organisation is negligence and puts a unnecessary burden on others.
