Do you have a dollar to spare?

A month ago, we were so happy but at the same time nervous to find out that I was pregnant. We have lost 3 precious angels in the past years. They did not survive for more than 10 weeks in my womb.

We took laboratory tests as advised by our doctor and discovered that I have Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APAS) category 1, 2, and 5. APAS is an autoimmune condition wherein my body attacks the baby in the womb or prohibits nutrition that the baby needs to receive.

I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant and our doctor has prescribed for us to have Intravenous immune globulin (IV-IG) to help prevent my body from attacking our baby in my womb. The doctor gave us an estimate of PHP110,000 (or around USD2,000) for 1 treatment. She told us that we will need at least 2 rounds for the first trimester depending on how my body responds.

update: Our immunologist has recommended that we do monthly IV-IG treatments. She has given us the option of a half dose plus intralipid to get baby through until our baby's born. This will cost around PHP 65,000 (or around 1,300).

My husband and I are just new at our workplaces and we still can't have loans. We are also already spending a lot of money on the other medicines that I need to increase my progesterone levels, control my blood sugar, and take care of my hypothyroidism. I have health insurance but the company said that they don't cover pregnancy-related issues.

I don't know where else to get help and we are racing against time so I am hoping that you could help give my baby a better chance to survive by donating any amount or sharing this fundraiser to your network.

Quick update: as of 7/6 11:50 AM Philippine time, we have reached 64% of our goal. Apologies for the late update. I've been trying to juggle between work and bouts of nausea in the past few days. They say nausea is good as hormones are working well for the pregnancy. . . . .
