Getting Back Up

There are so many instances in our lives that God proves He can make the impossible happen. Sometimes God puts us in a situation where He can show us that miracle is true.

Last Saturday, 13th of February 2021, God puts us in a test. My father, Bernardo, was on his way home when a group of suspects forced him to drink alcohol. Since my father is old and is very tired, he refused which lead the suspects to beat him and stab him in several parts of his body. My father cannot defend himself, I just can't imagine what he been through in the hands of six suspects which are far younger and stronger than him.

He was rushed to the nearest hospital but was not treated immediately because of the hospital's lack of capability to perform surgeries. We transferred him to a bigger hospital where he was operated but since it took almost five hours before he got a surgery, his lungs already developed bleeding and it required a tube to be inserted in his chest to remove the liquids. He was in a critical condition for 24 hours but we saw how he really wanted to live and how he fought for his life.

We got a discharge notice from the hospital since last week but we cannot take him home due to a huge hospital bill. The total bill is almost half million pesos (8,485 Euro). Some family and friends already extended help but the current running bill is still Php250,000 and is progressing day after day. My family is struggling to find funds to pay this in full amount. We have exhausted all of possible sources but it is still not enough.
