I started downhill skating since 2011. It started out to support a friends new business. One thing lead to another and I ended up finding my life’s passion, it might sound like Im exaggerating, but it’s true.
It was the highlight of my life, I made new friends who are now brothers to me, experience new cultures that I’ve never experienced, and competing around South East Asia. Throughout my racing career, I’ve managed to bag champ at “KKB Outlaw” and “Janda Baik Outlaw 2014”, 4th at Boomslang Outlaw race in Johor and competed in various races in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and even locally. In fact I also organised a few with the team, TFY. The biggest was an event in Putrajaya where we had racers from all over the globe to compete. All of it, funded on our own, occasionally supported by close family members.
September 2014, I got hitched to the love of my life and we started a beautiful family together. As time past, life requires you to steer your ship towards another direction, and I saw myself slowly losing touch of the downhill scene. Though the itch to get back on board still lurks in the cupboard.
They announced that downhill skateboarding was one of the category for the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines and I started getting invites to represent the nation. I’ve been contemplating for the past few months whether to take the challenge up, but there was something that I just couldn't get pass, financially. Having a family of 4 requires me to prioritise it, and there was no room to get back skating.
Hence, why I decided to try and see if this might allow me to get on board. Due to we could only get gears and equipments overseas, I needed quite a sum. These included leather suits, fullface helmet, wheels, trucks, bearings, deck and gloves.
If you think that I’m worthy to give it a shot to represent Malaysia, by all means, I wont let you guys down.
