Get Back My Voice

My name is Dmitri. I’ve been teaching for over 11 years. In the past 3 years my voice has been gradually fading and weakening. First, I reduced the hours, visited ENT doctors and took some medications provided locally in Taiwan. One year ago I develop a nasty pain symptom only when I talked. The pain was getting stronger and even corticosteroids couldn’t stop the pain. I had to reduce the hours even more and remain completely silent at home which put a lot of stress on my wife and kid. The doctors in Taiwan couldn’t find the cause of pain, with the pain come inflammation and swelling of my throat and nose. I could hardly breathe. I was suggested to perform a nose tissue reduction surgery which I did. The after surgery recovery wasn’t done properly and the wounds couldn’t heal. At this point I had enough, I had to quit my job and buy a ticket back home to see a specialist in Belarus. I was diagnosed with throat ulcer and nose mucosa tissue degradation. After 2 weeks of treatment, the ulcer was gone and mucosa began to heal, however I completely lost my voice. It took me 2 months to begin talking again, during which I had to use notes and app to communicate with family. My voice is slowly returning with the help of voice therapy and medications, but my financial situation is critical because mortgage, bills and food payments lay on the shoulders of my wife. I sold most of the things I bought before. I am still months away from returning to work and need some support from the community because I wish to continue my carrier and begin my social life.
