Campaign Story
INDIE Game developer
Hi, my name is Arif I'm a 3d artist and indie game developer/enthusiast from Indonesia.
Situation:
I have a laptop that I'm working work with, it's old and barely does the job now. it gets really hot when I'm working and the fans on it are malfunctioning. I was hoping to get some small contract to get a better one but I can't find any job that I'm capable of doing with this laptop. Also, sanctions and inflation in our country don't help the situation at all since I make money in Rials and have to buy pc parts/laptops in Dollars which makes it 20 times more expensive.
I need an upgrade to my hardware to be able to develop my skills and my career.
How the money will be used:
depending on how much will be raised I'm going to invest all or some of the money in a new workstation laptop/PC and the rest of it will be used for any related accessories.
During my university year, I was doing small contracts here and there to make some money for myself. it wasn't much and I was only able to do them at the weekends or holidays when I was back home since my university was a few hours away and I only had an old PC at home.
two years into university, my brother gave me his laptop (which I'm still using now) so I can work from the dormitory and also because my PC was dying of old age.
with the new laptop, I was able to do more (not too much more tho) and got into game development with a programmer abroad. we made a prototype for a game and currently working on it. at the same time, I fell in love with a classmate and realized we have much in common. one year later I proposed to her and her father said if I get a good job he would agree to our marriage.
so now I'm trying to get a position at an indie studio or do small contracts to make enough money for paying rent and marriage. but I'm quite limited by my current hardware.
Thank you
