Future doctor: The first step

First step to becoming a future doctor

Hi to everyone reading this. I am Janna Desepeda from Manila, Philippines and I’ve always wanted to become a doctor ever since I can remember. I was supposed to study medicine 2 years ago after graduating from college but had to postpone it due to financial difficulties. This year I was planning to resume my studies after working for 2 years and applied to UERM - University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center https://uerm.edu.ph/admission/collegeofmedicine from which I passed but have not enrolled yet.

Both of my parents are working in Italy for more than 20 yrs. to support my sister and I here in the Philippines but studying medicine was more than we could finance. The savings I had worked for for 2 years was far from the yearly tuition fees. My parents were supposed to help me enroll this year but the pandemic happened and as you know Italy was badly hit and sadly both my parents were laid off. Becoming a doctor may be a far-fetched dream at the moment but wiith your help this can be my first step. Thank you :)

This is how the money willbe divided.

$6000 - annual tuition fee ($3000 per semester, 2 semesters per year)

$ 500 - medicine books and requirements (stethoscope, labgowns, mask, gloves, etc)
