Funeral Expenses of Alice Mandap and Educational Fund for her Kids

Ate Mandap Ballesteros is one of the beneficiaries of the donation drive I started last April 2020 to provide their community relief goods since their community was one of the poor areas in our town. (Donation Drive Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/Adopt-Mandap-103968624646018/)

Her husband messaged me sometime July to ask for help because Alice was diagnosed with Stage 2 Chronic Kidney Disease since February, and has been undergoing dialysis treatment that costs her family PHP2,400 per week. We were able to raise PHP19,000 for her AVF creation since she has been receiving the treatment in the neck for 5 months, and have affected her health since then. The operation was successful, and have been such a fighter since day 1 of her treatment. However, she died last September 11, 2020, due to cardiac arrest, a complication of her illness.

Today, she will be buried in Pampanga, Philippines. Her husband does not know where to start and how to start their lives again. They have sold their tricycle service vehicle for her treatment, and her twin sons need to continue on with their education. But since all their income and sale from the motor vehicle service were spent for her dialysis treatment and have borrowed a lot of money from people, the education of their children might suffer, and I do not want that to happen.

I had difficulty getting donation to help fund her dialysis treatment back then, so I thought of selling plants which proceeds will fund her treatment. But she was not able to wait until all of the plants have been sold. I will still sell the plants that we have on hand and will give the proceeds to her husband as I have promised her. Your donation will help the family (1) pay their debts for the dialysis treatments and burial expenses, (2) it will fund her children's education and (3) your donation will help her husband start again and start making a living with their kids.

I have always used the hashtag Let's #HelpAteAlice (Ate = sister), but right now, let's #HelpAteAlicesFamilyStartAgain is more appropriate.
