Fundraising for Messy Bessy

Messy Bessy is a social enterprise which aims to support Filipino young adults at-risk rise from poverty, former abuse, incarceration, and human trafficking. Messy Bessy produces and distributes natural home and personal care products in order to rehabilitate at-risk young adults. Likewise, it provides disadvantaged youth with the education and business acumen that enables them to become agents of positive change in their communities.

In the Philippines, 5 million young adults are out of school and out of a decent job. These people are labeled as youth at-risk, mostly from Manila and about 25% from the provinces. They face the risk of a life of extreme poverty. People who lack college education are at a disadvantage, given the fact that most employers in the Philippines focus on college more so than other countries. Messy Bessy took it upon itself to change this — empowering these young people through a unique working student program; by showing them that they are worth it and that they have the power to lift themselves out of poverty permanently. In Messy Bessy, they are given a chance to secure a stable job, engage in real, valuable work and earn enough to pay for their own schooling. Messy Bessy also provides the much needed psychosocial support and well-being programs that pave the way to self-reliance and professionalism. As more college diplomas are secured, Messy Bessy is determined to find ways to give more youth-at-risk a second chance in life.

Fundraising from this will give these youth at-risk vitamins and laptops to cope with the current schooling system under the COVID recession as well as maintain their health by providing vitamin supplements.
