Hi all! My name is Emiliano and I am from Chilecito, La Rioja in Argentina, a country in South America. I am a normal person who is dedicated to helping animals in street situations. Daily, I feed many street animals or with irresponsible owners, I also heal their wounds and perform treatment for their diseases. Another work I do is to give in adoption abandoned puppies and also castration to female dogs that may have puppies in conditions of abandonment in the street.

I perform all these tasks by my own means. I also have a Facebook page where I upload my daily work with street animals and a Patreon page where people with great hearts contribute their love and collaboration to support these tasks. Both my Facebook page and my Patreon page began with the incentive of many people who insisted me on making these pages when I shared the rescue and recovery story of my dog Magnus, which was close to death and was abandoned when it was a puppy. I also share his adventures on my Facebook Page.

But due to the difficult economic situation that is going through our country and the instability in our economy, every week the prices of the medicines and materials that we use for our work increase. In addition, some medications is more hard to get (sellers do not want to sell it). Despite the donations we received in Patreon, reaching this amount would take us more than 6 months. That is why we ask for help in order to buy medicines, healing tools, food, syringes, gauze, etc., to store them and thus be covered for several months and be covered in case our country worsens its situation.

Due to the policies of our country, we must use an intermediate page to make transfers from Paypal to a bank account in a bank in Argentina (this page is called Nubi). This page charges us a commission for the transfer. That is why we put the amount of 600 USD, which would cover these costs.

This is the stuff we are planning to buy for our project. I will specify the list and quantities as well as the current price of these things. As I explained, our economy is unstable and things go up daily. On December 6, 2019, the price of the Argentine peso is: 1 USD = 59.90 ARS:

  • External antiparasitic spray pack; healing and repellent for infection prevention and treatment of bugs: This spray helps us heal external wounds, protecting the wound from possible flies that can lay eggs, in addition to helping the wound heal faster. We have two possible trademarks: one costs 200 ARS each unit and the pack brings 6 units (1200 ARS the pack). Another brand of better quality each unit costs 300 ARS and each pack brings 6 units (1800 ARS each pack). Our goal is to buy two packs (2400 ARS of the first trademark and 3600 ARS the second trademark).
  • Spray pack for fleas and ticks: This spray will help us treat problems with fleas, ticks and possible fungi that can lead to major infections. Each pack contains 6 units and it cost 300 ARS each unit (1800 ARS each pack). We want to buy 2 (3600 ARS).

  • A vial of injectable contraceptive: Until we can castrate some animals, injectable contraceptives will help us gain time. The bottle costs 700 ARS and approximately has 10 doses, that is, for 10 animals.

  • Box of antibiotics: this is one of the medications we use most. It allows us to help animals when they have an infected wound, helping them to recover and prevent the infection from becoming larger. We want to buy 3 boxes, each box contains 10 tablets with 10 pills each. Each Tablet cost 200 ARS, the box costs 2000 ARS. (three boxes costs 6000 ARS).

  • Anti-inflammatory medicine, pain reliever and allergy: This is the second medicine we use a lot. It helps us reduce pain in animals that are recovering from a wound or from a castration operation. They also help us with bee sting allergies, weather allergy reactions, etc. We want to buy 3 boxes, each box contains 10 tablets with 10 pills each. Each Tablet cost 100 ARS, the box costs 1000 ARS. (three boxes costs 3000 ARS).

  • Scabies medicine and skin infections: 1 bottle of this medicine contains many doses, approximately 50. It will help us treat skin infections and scabies. The bottle costs ARS 400.

  • Deworming pills: these pills are mostly used for puppies and young dogs. We want to buy a box, which brings 10 tablets with 4 pills. Each tablet costs 150 ARS and the box costs 1500 ARS

  • eye drops: these drops help us to treat conjunctivitis problems and wounds in the eye product of some external body that has damaged the eye causing irritation. Each drops bottle costs 200 ARS and we want to buy 3 (600 ARS).

  • Syringes: We will use syringes to both deliver medications orally (without a needle) and syringes with needles to deliver medications through the skin. Both will cost us approximately 200 ARS (all). This is an estimate since the box brings 100 units and we will not use so many, so we will buy per unit.

  • Hydrogen peroxide: We have not had many extreme cases where we have to use this, but it is always good to have wounds before healing. We want to buy 2 bottles, each one costs 150 ARS (300 ARS for both)

  • Gauze and ribbons: It is not something we use frequently but we would like to have it in case of emergency. Both cost ARS 200.

  • Spray for wounds in the mouth: This spray is ideal for using infections and wounds in and around the mouth. We use it when there is any wound on the gums or teeth. We want to buy a spray and its cost is 250 ARS

  • Rifamycin Spray: is an antibiotic used for treat infections, burns, pyoderma, infected wounds, impetigo and varicose ulcers. We want to buy two sprays and it costs 350 ARS each (700 ARS for two sprays).

  • Food bag: this is the next thing we use most, since we not only feed many animals on the street, but also feed animals that we have in transit for recovery. Each bag costs 1300 ARS and approximately we use 2 bags every 3 weeks. We want to buy 10 bags and store them. (13000 ARS)

Of course, if this project is concreted, we will upload each invoice and photos of everything we have been able to buy (in case some things are missing). We will also upload price updates and in case the money allocated for any missing item is used for pending castrations for street animals and will also be specified.

From now I want to thank you infinitely for reading our project (sorry for the editorial errors, I still do not speak English every well) and we thank you for any donation or share, in order to achieve our goal and continue our work to help animals. You can visit our Facebook page for know more about our daily work! <3

Update posted by Emiliano Peressini at 11:41 pm

Over the course of the week, we delivered the medications to two different groups, in addition to Kyo and myself. This is because there were a lot of drugs and we would never use them before their expiration date. So we prefer to share them with people who also carry. . . . .
