FUNDRAISING FOR BENJI CRUZ

Last November 5, our National Director of Living Waters Philippines Benjamin Cruz slipped and his right hip hit hard the slippery floor of a restaurant. He tried to stand but it was excruciatingly painful that he just slumped on the floor. Every move that he tried to make caused him to scream in pain. Since then to this day, he has not been able to stand and walk normally.

After a series of x-ray and lab tests, his orthopedic surgeon said he had a bad case of fractured hipbones. Benji just had a “hip fixation” surgery last November 8, 2018, where a metal shaft was inserted into his bones. Without the surgery, the doctor said he wouldn’t be able to walk normally again.

While he had been discharged from the hospital the other night (Nov. 13), the daunting cost of his recovery continues even after the expensive surgery. He has to go thru a six-month rehabilitation management where he needs to spend three hours a week in physical therapy. He has to avail and pay the services of a physical therapist and a caregiver.

Benji works as a missionary for Living Waters, a non-profit healing ministry serving churches that doesn’t have the facility to provide medical assistance to its workers. He and his family rely on the generosity of individuals touched by our Lord for their upkeep.
