Fundraising following emergency lung transplant of 6-year old little boy

Dear friends,

We're reaching out today with a story close to our hearts about our nanny, Suu, who has faced unimaginable loss.

Recently Suu's husband was killed in action and their home in Myanmar was destroyed by a bomb, taking the life of her 11 year old son. Now, Suu and her youngest son Arrow, who is just 6 years old, are grappling with the aftermath and a critical health battle.

Born with a serious lung condition, Arrow was fighting everyday just to breath as his condition got worse over the past months. Just 2 weeks ago, he underwent an emergency lung transplant in Mae Sot, a Thai town bordering Myanmar, without which he would not have survived. While we are all overjoyed that the transplant procedure was successful, the road to recovery remains long and very costly.

Arrow is now undergoing intensive post-surgery care in Yangon where care is safer and more affordable than in Mae Sot. A distant family member is providing essential support to the little boy as Suu is currently not able to enter Myanmar. The financial and emotional burden of the post-surgery care weights heavily on Suu, who lost all her savings and everything else in the attack on her home. The bills are stacking up quickly as everything for the post-surgery care needs to be purchased and paid for, including a hospital bed, all medical equipment, medicines etc.

Here is where we can all make a difference. Together, we have the power to help change the lives of Suu and her little boy. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving Arrow the gift of a better future, and reuniting him back with his mum in Bangkok.
