My name is Justin and I am from Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. For the past 5 years I have been in running a farm in a 3 acre property in small scale. Recently, I have embarked on expanding my farm operation to make it viable as a source of income. I am passionate in farming. Currently I am mainly planting Chillies but planning to grow vegetables too. My plan is to utilize all available space in my property and turn it into a sustainable farm. However, my setback is I don't have the capital to start it. I had invested on machineries for example a mini tiller machine, brush cutters etc. I'm basically used up all my savings to jump start it. The farm operation is halted in the present moment. There is an urgency to get cash injection otherwise, I will have to start all over again and wasted all the labour and money put into it.

Why I think you should help me? Instead of going into planting Oil Palm as most people in my state do, I decided to go into food crop instead. Oil Palm plantations are not good to the environment and to wildlife. Food crop agriculture in my state is neglected because people think there is no money in it. Most jump on the bandwagon of Oil Palm planting. I want to proof to people in my area that they could earn a living by doing into food crop. I use minimal chemical at my farm. My fertilisers are organic-chicken manure. I also apply composting. So my produce are all organic. I hope when the villagers see that I could earn a decent living by growing food crop in organic method, they would follow suit. So you maybe helping me to save the environment. I also want to provide employment and provide source of income to my fellow villagers. My idea is to have a cluster of growers in my area. Collectively, we could create organic vegetable centre and then buyers will start coming to us. Hence, we bring the market to us. This will improve the socio-economy of the villagers. Yes, I have an altruistic intention for wanting to make the farm a success besides giving myself a steady income.

I don't have anything to offer back to you in return for your donation. Other than assuring you that you will be contributing to a good cause. When my farm is doing well, I will help others too. Pay it forward. Because strangers had helped me, I will do the same.

You can view my farm activities at impetani.blogspot.com or look for Borneo Tropics Bounty on Facebook although I seldom update them these days because I am busy at the farm.
