Fund for Mel’s Ailing Heart

Last Sunday, my brother was rushed to the hospital after complaining of difficulty of breathing. He was later admitted to the ICU after doctors discovered that he had arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat). After a number of laboratory exams and 2D echo, it was found out that my brother had elevated levels of enzymes in his heart which is a sign of an impending heart attack. Furthermore, 2D echo results have also shown the left chamber of his heart was only capable of ejecting blood at 12% (normal=50%). To make matters worse, my brother is also suffering from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).

The cardiologist have informed us of the need to have him undergo an Angiogram asap to know the condition of his heart and to identify the presence of any blockage to the main blood vessels.

At present, his family plans to transfer him to Philippine Heart Center, from Allied Medical Center in Valenzuela, where he can undergo the procedure and be under the care of experts.

My brother's has only been employed once and only for a short period of time, so he doesn't have any savings to speak of. Furthermore, his children have exhausted all their savings and financial resources to support their father's increasing medical bill.
