Fund for Baby Sam battling Pneumonia and Laryngomalacia

Hello Everyone! I am asking help for my college friend whose baby is currently in the hospital. Below is her appeal for financial assistance:

I am writing this letter to you in absolute desperation for support. Lucia Samara is my daughter. Our little fighter is currently four months old and is currently admitted to the Pediatric ICU of Mary Mediatrix Medical Center in Lipa City Batangas. She has Pneumonia and was diagnosed at the same time with Laryngomalacia a condition that results from a birth defect in a child's voice box (larynx). The soft tissues of the larynx fall over the airway opening and partially block it. She has difficulty in feeding (choking while feeding) and has gastroesophageal reflux (spitting, vomiting, and regurgitation) which results in her poor weight gain. She has pauses in breathing and pulling in her neck and chest with each breath.

This results in stridor — a high-pitched sound that is heard when she inhales. Tracheostomy is a treatment that is temporary for up to 2yrs. A tracheostomy is an opening created at the front of the neck so a tube can be inserted into the windpipe to help her breathe.

We are not able to raise the money to meet this medical expense and therefore we are requesting your help to save her life. We would greatly appreciate any help that we can get. Thank you in advance for your support.
