From Kapp to Cape

Since April 25th, 2018 I am walking “from kapp to cape”, from the northernmost point of Europe (Nordkapp) to the southernmost point of Africa (Cape Angulhas / Cape Town).

Motivation

Ever since my sister fell ill with breast cancer in 2013, I am committed to help cancer patients and their families. Besides, I am interested in the psychological factors supporting the healing of severe illnesses, particularly the will to live and the wish to get healthy. A good immune system plays an important part in this - and loving care as well as good mood strengthen the immune system. This is how Doctor Clown Tanzania works and for me it instantly felt like a logical consequence to support them.

My journey from Kapp to Cape is totally funded by donations. 20% of every donation go to the clowns in Tanzania and will help the kids.

A gift of €50 will enable me to walk almost 60km and allow the clowns to visit the kids for one day.

The healing power of humor

Doctor Clown Tanzania are hospital clowns. The clowns remind young patients in pediatric and intensive care units that they are so much more than just their illness. They help the children to conquer their fears and gain some control in a frightening environment, they allow them to forget their illness for a moment. The clowns are an invaluable asset in pediatrics - because laughter is an important medicine.
