When I was a little girl, instead of going to summer school and taking extra classes, I stayed home helping my father with farm works. Although lack of time for studying, it was never an obstacle preventing me from being the best student in secondary school. I was the only student in the grade who got full score (10 mark) in the final exam and won 1st prize in provincial level competition. Moreover, I was the only student in my secondary school who could pass entrance exam to study in the best high school for the gifted in my province and continued study there. On the other hand, it is my father’s stories while we worked on the farm that have always been my inspiration to continue studying. I remember he told me about Abraham Lincoln, a little boy lived in poor farm of Kentucky countryside, overcame all difficulties to become 16th President of the United States of America. The story of President Lincoln has always been my inspiration for continuing studying and helping my community, especially for development in education, despite any difficulties. This is also my reason for years to overcome language challenges and financial difficulties to be received a full scholarship from Asian University for Women. The chance offered by AUW has inspired me to explore and develop more in order to make positive changes for my society, especially in helping poor Vietnamese students for better education.

When I was in Vietnam, opportunities were less and poor students cannot approach quality education due to financial difficulties. Also be a poor Vietnamese girl, I was lucky enough to have my father – a never-tired man who always inspires me for keep going and reaching my goals. I was even luckier for getting selected for scholarship from Sookmyung International School 2018 in South Korea. I strongly believe this chance would be a significant step for me to get to know effective education system in South Korea, gain significant advance knowledge on sustainable development, get to know friend from all over the world, explore cultural diversity in Korea and improve necessary skills. By continuing my study in South Korea, I want to tell all students who, like me, are facing financial difficulties that they are worth and deserved for quality education, so NEVER GIVE UP DREAMS.

Although the scholarship covers all tuition fee, other expenses such as program fee, accommodation, round trip flights, etc. are requested to be covered by my own. These expenses, about $2500, including:
- Flight tickets from Dhaka, Bangladesh to Seoul, South Korea: $1000
- Program fee: $500
- Housing (Sookmyung University's dormitory): $400
- Books and academic materials: $100
- Food in Korea: $250
- Transportation in Korea: $100
- Transportation in Bangladesh: $50
- Visa Application: $40
- Health Insurance in South Korea: $40
Total: $2480
These expenses are really out of my family's affordability. The semester starts in July 3 and I really need the money for preparation. Therefore, your support is completely meaningful for me. Just one dollar can make change. With your support, I believe my dreams to Korea is completely approachable.
