I’m Francesca, 24 y/o recent Law Master graduate from the University of Warsaw. I’m half-Polish and half-Italian but for all intents and purposes I prefer to refer to myself as European.
Recently I have been accepted to the prestigious College of Europe, an institution which goal is to shape and teach young people to be future actors in European policy-making. Unfortunately, without much justification, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided not to award me with a scholarship to cover the studies. The tuition fee at the College of Europe is 16,000EUR + 8,000EUR for accomodation etc.. I'm asking you to help me gather the money for tuition alone, the rest I will be happy to work for myself.
Why do I want to go to College of Europe?
Education enables change and change is what Europe needs. Now I’m not saying that studying at College of Europe will automatically push me to the top of the political world but I know it will give me all possible instruments to begin my professional life as well-versed in European politics and law as possible. EU is a project I firmly believe in, but it cannot remain in existence just as is, because we don’t have anything else. There is still some work to be done. I want to possess all the tools and possibilities the College supplies and I promise they will not be wasted in my hands.
Why should you support me in my quest to make it in the world of European decision-making?
Because I’m a strong, determined individual, not afraid to use all the resources at my disposal to achieve my goals.
Because I have already proven my involvement on a grass-root level, sharing my knowledge and experience as a volunteer to educate young people on how the EU works. For the last 3 years, next to my University education, I have been organizing, chairing and participating Model European Union conferences and I have been engaged in various NGOs. I consider this to be one of the most important aspects of my life. The people I’ve met, the lessons I have learned are ones of much more value than I could have expected. I want to take it a step further.
Because I believe that this particular education, coupled with my extracurricular engagements, can grant me prospects that would otherwise be very difficult to access – from extraordinary educational opportunities such as intensive and demanding courses lead by the best of Europe’s educators, to networking and CV building.
My extracurricular activites so far include:
- Internship for the European Commission Representation in Poland
- Organisation of the most professional Model European Union conference in Strasbourg
- in 2017 acting as Head of Content
- in 2016 acting as Content Team Officer and Commissione
