For Mama Najwa Against Cancer and War

My name is Omaima and this fundraiser is for my mom, Najwa.

Our mom, Najwa, is 63 years old refugee woman

A cancer patient who got deported from Sweden right in the middle of her Chemotherapy.

She fell between stools of the judicial system in Europe. Denied asylum and basic human rights. She has no means of paying for her treatment, nor does her family.

Just now, she is paperless in France. No income. No support. No insurance. No home of her own and unable to be with her family.

Alone, battening cancer and awaiting her deportation to Syria, where she’ll probably face detention or worse.

NAJWA NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Najwa, is an artist and civil engineer from Syria. She has us, her two daughters and three grandchildren, all of us were forced to leave home as the war escalated.

She was the last to leave after selling all her belongings to afford her family’s trip to safety.

Ever since she tried to join her family, she’s been facing misfortune and oppression.

She risked her life as she was fleeing Syria with one of the grandkids.

2 years in Turkey , a complete struggle with no chance of a decent life, until she got a visa to France to seek asylum.

3 years in France , a complete denial of her asylum request. They didn’t believe her story.

She comes to Sweden in hope of finally finding a home with her family.

In Sweden they refused to even study her case, because it’s a Dublin case!

All of our appeals to the migration have failed. She was taken into custody by the police and kept there for 5 weeks.

Then they deported her to France in spite of the doctor's report instructing otherwise.

She had already started experiencing symptoms of fatigue, nausea and sickness, and she lost her hair.

In Sweden, they promised her of course that she will get treatment in France and that she will be taken care of.

They lied! She was not offered a home or any medical attention or even any instructions on how to proceed.

They just left her at the airport.

There’s an ongoing complaint against the police at the moment!

Until her situation is settled in France, she doesn’t exist in the system.

Accordingly, the only option left is to pay for the therapy from her own pocket.

The family is devastated, as they are barely able to cover her costs of living.

The money collected will be used to cover approximately 3 chemotherapy treatments, the medication before and after, other medical services like changing the tube and the bandage on her arm, and for transportation to the hospital and back.
