I have a story to share and most hopefully you can help me by the end of it.
You see, not long ago I felt in love - a complicated sweetheart who needs my help stole my heart.
His name is Frederic - and he is a horse...
Frederic is a school horse, and while that is fine as it is, he deserves a better life. And he is complicated in the way that his past have been filled with abuse, and he has lost trust in humans to a certain point that you can't go into his box without him threating you, if you don't have food with you - he loooves food.
Now don't get me wrong - he's not evil, he wouldn't hurt you. He just does the only thing he can to protect himself, and that's pushing people away with "bad" behaviour - as some would call it. He is getting better, but there is still a lot of work to do, and not something a school horse would get, but when I get into the stable and I call his name he usually answer me back, and just the other day he called very loudly at me before I even had said his name.
But you can't jugde him by his behaviour. He loves to work, and would never hurt his rider. He really tries to do his best when you are on him, and that's why he is very popular at the stables - when you only have to ride him that is.
Many of the other girls have been bitten by him - simply because they don't know how to handle him.
His earlier owner would hit him with a whip when he was in his box if he didn't come towars the box door by himself. They would whip him when he didn't do what they wanted.
They hurt him, and ruined a wonderful horse that's now sick. He is sick and the board of the riding school doesn't have the money for him getting a vet - neither would they contact the wet. They simply don't have the animal-minded head that tells them that this will only get better if he gets a vet and better equipment.
This is a call for help. I need to buy Frederic so he can get the chance he so deserve.
He needs me just as much as I need him.
After the summer-holiday they will probably sell him to the horse dealer if he isn't well enough to be used. And I know this horse-dealer. It won't turn out good. Not with that kind of man. He will just get hit again and again.
Not only that, he will simply be a horse that will be sent back and forth. Like a ball without any feelings.
The horse-dealer will ruin everything that's worked with, with Frederic. This smart, wonderful horse will be broken all over again, and I won't let that happen - that's why I need your help! I need this money to be sure he can have a furture where he feels calm and safe.
This money will go to buy him and for the possible vet-bills to come - and the equipment that will make him work without pain.
(And just so you know, I'm not a first time horse-owner - I know what I am getting myself into).
Thank you very much for taking your time to read this, and I hope you can spare some for Frederic and me!
