Campaign Story
Hi, this is for my friend's sister, Ate Racquel. Please read her sister's message below:
I am reaching out to friends here and abroad in behalf of one I love:
October 20, 2019 – when we decided to have our youngest sister, Racquel, be discharged from her week long hospital confinement after finally diagnosed with a recurring brain tumor, medulloblastoma. After her current Neurologist confirmed her MRI results we were strongly advised to have her undergo surgery as soon as possible since no prescription drugs will ease or slow down its growth. Further he said that the more we prolong this procedure significant symptoms of the tumor will manifest which involve muscle coordination, balance and movement. For the past 3months+ at present she cannot sustain standing up, sitting up straight without a back rest, she can’t walk short distances, she can’t even flatten her left foot on the floor; urinary incontinence and she can no longer move her left arm. Since our bedroom is located at the second floor of the house it is becoming very dangerous for her and us (me and my mom) to climb up and down the stairs or whenever we accompany her to use the bathroom as she weighs too heavy for two people to lift and carry. My mom is 71 years old and I have just started at my current (graveyard shift) job after being unemployed for almost a year so we can only do so much.
Surgery for medulloblastoma is usually followed by radiation or chemotherapy, or both so overall will cost us around Php400,000.00 initially. If you are drawn to help, we would be most grateful. Our family would greatly appreciate any amount that would be donated for her surgery and medical needs. You can share and tell your friends/colleagues that this post is sincerely legitimate and they can send me a private message if they wish to verify our information and ask for other details. We also welcome favorable recommendations to NGOs, private philantrophic organizations or government branch who can help us shoulder funding for her case. Thank you very much in advance and God bless your caring hearts. - Jocelyn Rivo
