Barangay 81 is a happy community located a few meters from the former Bonifacio Market,(MONUMENTO CIRCLE) former, because it has been demolished. the owner has bought the land, displacing 200 small tenants with no place to go, most of them wonder in the dark alleys of the former market. well, the city hall has not given aid, adding to this disaster, is this virus pandemic, which prompted the Govt. to put the entire Luzon including Monumento on lock down.
The virus has been a total disaster ever since the lock down was implemented. A lot of people cannot report to work. because their employers would not want to pay their 13th month or one month leave with pay. most of their employers wont be offering a shuttle service, so many resort to walking. and the bad news is the payment for bills and basic needs continue after a month. with no mass transportation in sight because of the Luzon Lock down, most people had to walk to work, and street vendors are not spared. they cannot sell on the streets because. they are asked to stay home. I want to ask help from anybody out there, our Barangay is composed of around 1000 families 95 percent low income earning around 300 a day before the lock down, the community is .composed of street vendors, pedicab drivers and fruit vendors, most of them lost their means of income because of this quarantine. with no financial solution offered by the Local government, I hope with the amount raised from you angels out there, the money can buy them groceries and put a smile on the kids faces again.
am afraid that the Luzon lockdown period is far from over, and may go beyond Easter.
