Greetings to all animal lovers in the world!
We are an Animal Protection Society from Barcelona (Spain), called SOS Gats i Gossos. We are focused on advocating for animal rights, trying to achieve the peaceful life all animals deserve.
We are starting this Go Get Funding project because we are currently experiencing a lack of food and medical care supplies for our cats and dogs.
Like in so many other parts of the world, in Spain animals are in a deplorable and unfair situation. There is no need to explain some of the horrible cases we have encountered, but we would love to share some of the activities that take part on a daily basis, thanks to all the people that collaborate with AnimalsBCN.
- We feed and take care of several colonies of cats in Barcelona, as well as Badalona, Sant Just Desvern, Terrassa, Tarragona and Sant Boi (surrounding areas of Barcelona).
- We look after cats and dogs that are in need of adoption, and provide them with a possibility of finding a caring family for them.
- We organize different activities to make people aware of the current animal situation.
- We use part of our time to find and sterilize street cats. Those cats that are too wild to adopt are set free, but with a permanent food supply provided by us.
- We help adoptants with financial issues by paying the medical cares their animals need. Every month we raise funds to get money for being able to afford sterilizations, medical care and food. We also sell calendars, t-shirts and other things our volunteers create.
We find our strength and motivation in the result we achieve when we witness the satisfaction on the animals we are taking care of, because the wellbeing of animals is a cause that we truly believe in.
We need your help, because given the unfair budget administration of our country (as in many other countries), we have almost no means to provide the animals with the resources they need.
We need a total of 8.000€:
- 2.000€ will be used to pay the food of our colonies during 1 year.
- 5.000€ more are needed to pay 100 sterilizations
- the remaining 1.000€ will be used to pay the cures that some of our cats (Miranda, Ros, Tokio, Molly, Klaus) and dogs (Eskitx, Drack, Ohana, Nevat) need.
