FIND YOURSELF IN SOLITUDE

Hi everyone! I'm a 22 year old student, finishing up my undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario. After years of studying and hard work, I have seem to have lost sight of who am I, and who I want to be.  FIND YOURSELF IN SOLITUDE, everybody hears this time and time again. But what does it really mean? Personally, isolation, solitude and spending time alone is the basis of growth and process. Gaining a deeper understanding of one's surrounding, more importantly empowering quality-finding oneself within the present moment.  Why this trip is important to me?  In the year 2014, my mother was diagosed with stage 4 lung cancer. At the age of 51, she still had so much to live for, and so much to see. We spoke about traveling Europe in the hopes to go after she retired. Unfortunately, that will not happen. She encouraged to still fulfil my dreams of going, and enjoy every moment life has to offer. There are so many answers I have been seeking and questions I need to discover for my unfounded thoughts.  Although, I do live a very fortunate life in some aspects, I believe this is an opportunity for me to take my life in my own hands with the freedom and maturity to mold it into shapes, forms, and experiences I embrace.  I plan on traveling in the summer of 2015, throughout Europe visiting countries such as Italy, Croatia, Spain, Greece, etc.  Please help me fund my way to self-discovery, and I will be forever grateful.
