Fight against Cancer – Mama Nanette

Hi everyone,

Knocking at your generous hearts for financial help for my mother's fight. I'm Maristella Pil, only child and a single mom. My Mother Ma. Cristina S. Pil also called as Mama Nanette , 57 years old non-smoker, non-alcoholic, stay at home mom doing basic household chores and specially taking care of me and her grand daughter. Last May 2018 everyone in the family was surprised when she was diagnosed with Laryngeal Cancer. Right after Biopsy resulting to malignant, her Doctor performed Tracheostomy so that she can breathe properly as the tumor blocks her air passage. The Doctor also advised to undego surgery to remove the tumor and then Chemotherapy afterwards, but since my mom is undernourished, she needs to gain weight before any procedures. On the other hand, she opted not to do the any operations and Doctors will not perform any of it until the patient agreed whole heartedly. She's only taking alternative medicines as the time goes by and most specially, prayers......

Last Sunday May 19, 2019 she was rushed to emergency room in World Citi Medical Center, Quezon City as she can barely breathe looking very pale. At this moment, the tumor is getting bigger (like a tennis ball) almost blocking her airway. While we're at the ER, her blood pressure dropped down and heartbeat goes down to ZERO, doctors and nurses were conducting CPR which took less than 6 minutes before revival. We thank God for bringing her back to us. Now, almost a week in ICU , closely monitoring her condition , antibiotics, droplets to help her blood pressure to be stable, and specially Ventilator is being used so she can breathe properly. Her ENT Doctor says he can't perform surgery anymore as the tumor is getting bigger and her body's nutrition is not enough to undergo any major procedure. As per mama , "laban lng tayo". Strong woman on her own way, showing how good fighter she is to face her medical condition, you can't hear any complains coming from her but ofcourse, it shows with her facial reactions that it wasn't easy at all. As a daughter, all I want is the best for my mom, doing our best to boost her nutrition thru IV, giving her Combiflex good for 24hrs and it's worth Php11,000 per bag and running hospital bill as of today May 24, 2019 at exactly 14:18 is Php346,927.44. As per doctors, we still can't be transferred to regular room unless everything is somewhat stable, her breathing and her blood pressure, for now the tumor is still there praying for her fast recovery and giving the best that we can as she's willing to fight for her own life and we'll do the same for her. The Surgeon/Pulmonologist provided an option to perform Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) for her nourishment and long term care. Any amount will be much appreciated to support my mother's medication. Thank you.
