This campaign might be just like any other kid asking help in continuing their education. There are things that we people sometimes fail to understand, Franz Mae, just another 14 year old who lives in Bacnotan, La Union. She is the eldest among her two brothers. Unfortunately for Franz, her mother have a mental disorder (Schizophrenia) which made it difficult for her and her family while she and her younger siblings grew up. Her father since he has fear with interacting with other people specially those who are in the upper class. It affected his ability to interact with the society that made him only find one job that can suit his disorder, which is any small errands or menial jobs that he can do but are not permanent. Some days when her father can’t find any job, they are forced to walk to school and coming back home. Her mother which has an even worst type of schizophrenia, deteriorated her ability to even have a proper thought process that only rendered Franz the only person who can hold the family together.

Franz being the eldest among her siblings, she had to be not only a sister to them but also a caring parent figure. Being the girl she is with the problems she faces daily and the hardships she get from what’s happening around her, she still puts up a smile for her brothers to just let them know that everything is fine. Shockingly, her performance in school whether academic or not, she always gives her maximum efforts and achieve high outcomes. She is known for achieving academic excellence and also actively participating on all activities provided by the school. She never had any shortcomings to her parents, siblings or even school. But the only shortcoming she had was her not being able to pay on time all of her school expenses and not being able to meet with all of her requirements especially on her school projects. Because of her mother having the given condition, her aspiration in life for her own future is to become a psychiatrist so that one day she can treat her own mother.

Even though tuition fees are free now in the Philippines, the expenses that students get from the school to pay, whether for their projects or assignments, especially now that we are in a technologically advances society, everything is digital, the requirement of having access to a phone, computer, or even internet is quite hard especially with their status quo. I started this campaign for her, to show her that even though she was selfless, there are people out there who appreciates the persona she has to put in daily, not only for her siblings, but for her parents, relatives, neighbors and even friends. Please find it in your heart to show small support for this lovely girl. She might be alone in Bacnotan but she isn’t alone in this world. Let’s show her the love needed.
