The Initiative for Nurturing Vulnerable & Empowerment for Resilience (INVER) is a refugee-led and oriented Community Based Organisation (CBO) established in 2018. INVER seeks to promote the resilience and psycho-social well-being of refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Turkana County, Kenya, through programs focusing on enterprise development, adult literacy, sexual and reproductive health and social cohesion.
Since its establishment, INVER through funds raised by the team has facilitated adult literacy training for 160 (men, women and youth) in Kakuma Refugee Camp and has also conducted sensitization around sexual and reproductive health for 60 adolescents and young adults. Currently, INVER has 120 individuals undergoing adult literacy training and expects to facilitate entrepreneurship skills training for 80 young adults.
INVER is seeking financial support towards the construction of a training center in Kakuma Refugee Camp, which will increase its outreach to refugees who need literacy and entrepreneurship education. So far, we have raised $300 for the construction and we are seeking $2,200, which will enable us complete construction. The local community will contribute labor and sand.
Please join us and support us in enhancing social integration of refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp.
