Many african women since time immemorial have been using open fire cooking which consumes a lot of fuelwood; emit a lot of smoke and causes respiratory diseases like cancer and severe coughing. For women to be able to cook meals, they have to spend alot of time in the forest collecting fuelwood where they risks their lives from wild animals. Also economical situation in community level is reduced because many women who are backbone of the economy dont work on farms but spend lots of time collecting fuelwood. Energy saving cookstoves are improvised to use less fuelwood, they are also smokeless and thus less charges of users getting respiratory diseases. I have come up with a campaign to distribute 4,000 energy saving cookstoves to households which are smokeless and uses little fuelwood compared to open fire cooking. This project will reduce emmissions, deforestation and respiratory diesease. support my case to give 4000 households energy saving cooksotves.
