Empowerment Self Defence For Endangered Young Women

Help us raise money for a project especcialy made for young woman in the Jewish Ethiopian community in Israel.

When you were a teen did anyone teach you how to protect yourself when someone was harassing you or trying to hurt you?
Did anyone explain what sexual abuse was?
Was there a trusted person you could go to if you hurt yourself or were hurt by others?
Did anyone teach you about your body? about your period?
Did anyone talk to you about your body image?
Did anyone talk to you about pornography and violence?

I hope you can answer YES to at least some of these questions.

Many endangered young women can't.

It can be different! It must be diffrent!
We can learn with our girls about how to identify and deal with situations that are not comfortable for us. We can teach the importence of turning for help. Perhaps we can learn about our bodies and what feels right for us. What we feel comfortable with and what we love about ourselves. We can learn how to deal with comments about our bodies, and about how we respond to them.
We can grow with our teenage girls in to being young woman who are more confident and proud of who they are, growing up to be the leaders of tomorrow.

My name is Devora Klein and since 2012 I have been taking part in community work with Teens and families of the Jewish Ethiopian community in Israel.
This year I will be guiding a group of teenage girls from this community, in a special project I created just for them. I started building this project as I saw a rising need for a young character who they know and trust, to bring up and learn about these topics they are struggling with.
Our group will get together for activities and learning on a regular basis. we will also have an empowerment self defense course, workshops with the Sexual Abuse Crisis Center and a special course on managing menstruation in a less painful way.
Our goal is to be a power group for these girls. Empowering each other, supporting each other, and hoping to learn and become dominant leaders in our communities, who see only the sky as a limit.
