Empowering African Kids Through Education

Dear Friends and Supporters

Two years ago my cousin Tendai Mukumba (a primary school educator here in Zimbabwe) and I came together to make a difference to the lives of the young people of Zimbabwe. Initially, in 2021, we developed and built an Early Childhood Program that would be run out of the vacant cottage in the backyard of my cousin's homestead. We currently have 30 children enrolled in our Early Childhood Development Program, and as a result, the kids have been able to attain numeracy, literacy and cognitive development skills from our brilliant educator Mrs Ever Mokoko.

Now, in 2023, we have planned to venture into building a secondary school called the Ever Bright Independent College. Here in Zimbabwe, many children do not have access to adequate education; and in some cases, they are forced to travel over 15 kilometers on foot, or are forced to go without education due to financial and economic hardships. We believe that education is paramount to creating and giving children the best possible start in life, and thus we need your assistance in making this a reality.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to build a school that will provide a safe and secure learning environment for hundreds of children, giving them the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future. With your support, the funds donated will go towards the following: Paint, doors, bricks, stationary, textbook supplies, office furniture, toilets, running water, labor hire, windows, cement, books, tools as well as hiring teachers.

About The School

Ever Bright Independent College is located in Zimbabwe in the rural village of Buwu. The school was developed in December of 2022 and provides access to quality education to students from rural villages who come from family backgrounds of low income and instability. Currently the school caters for 11 students and is set to have an influx in the upcoming term. The problem we are faced with is that the current building is not big enough to facilitate classes for the demand of students needing an education. Previously students were forced to travel strenuous distances on foot just to get too school, however, since Ever Bright Independent College has been built the commute is now less then half the distance. Outside of the regular school curriculum, the school offers entrepreneurship, financing, as well as servant leadership to empower their students and give them the best chance at success.
