It has been narrated from Umm Salamah (radiAllahu anhu) that RasulAllah (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) said:

"If you see the Hilal (new moon) of Dhul-Hijjah, and any one of you wants to make a sacrifice, then he should not cut (anything) from his hair and his nails."

عن أم سلمة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:

"إذا رأيت هلال ذو الحجة ، وأحدكم يريد أن يضحي ، فلا يجب أن يقطع (أي شيء) من شعره وأظافره".
