I have been an educator for over 10 years and 6 of those years I have spent teaching in Uganda, Africa. Through research and observation, it is quite apparent that there is a desperate need for education. We have partnered with local teachers in the area to develop the first progressive international school in Kampala, Uganda.
Our school, Kampala Community International Preschool, will focus on creating a safe and secure learning environment for children ages 6 months-6 years. At KCIP, we encourage our students to learn through creative academic and social interactions with their peers, teachers and environment.
The mission of Kampala Community International Preschool is to develop active and creative minds in every individual child by providing an engaging and challenging learning environment at each stage of development. Kampala Community International Preschool is a diverse and inclusive community that recognizes each child is an individual. KCIP creates a safe and nurturing space where children can develop and improve their academic, social, emotional and physical skills. KCIP emphasizes and stresses the importance of a multi-cultural education and helps children to develop cultural awareness and respect towards others. At KCIP, children will thrive and become confident and intelligent contributors to society.
In order to provide our students with positive learning experiences, we must secure our school site and make appropriate adjustments to ensure safe exploration. We also must be able to provide resources for the children that meet international standards. Our school is solely funded on donations and personal funds. We would be grateful if you would like to contribute to the development of Kampala International Preschool.
