DONATE TO SUPPORT SPELLING BEE COMPETITION, KASOA

We aim to develop literacy and technology, by embedding the act and love of reading in children of basic schools. Studies show that reading for pleasure makes a big difference to children's educational performance. This competition helps build vocabulary and improve literacy, which is vital to students' academic achievements.

Our decision to embark on this project was borne from the reason that 'Spelling Bees' do not merely involve rote learning of words. Rather, preparation for a bee is a comprehensive learning process that allows children to learn the definition, pronunciation, and roots of the words. Also, the valuable learning outcome of a 'Spelling Bee', results in the children gaining competency over vocabulary, thus, allows them to excel at reading and writing.
