Due to the taxation on pads in the country, and several failed advocacies to scrap taxes on pads. Most girls in vulnerable residences and rural communities cannot purchase these pads during their time of the month. This compels them to find alternative and unhygienic materials which may lead to various health complications and infections. In worse situations, they end up getting pregnant when they depend on men and boys to help them get those pads.

To help mitigate this problem, (Period Poverty) the Ghana offshore team of Raise, under the BCorp week activity is partnering with a non-profit group to reach out to girls in public schools. The idea is to donate reusable and non-reuseable pads to 150 school girls in the periurban community in the capital, Accra and the Northern Region.

We will appreciate every kind donation that may come from all of you to help procure more pads to be distributed on the day of the event .
