DOCUMENTARY SERIES: THE TRUTH & HISTORY OF THE VENEZUELAN CRISIS
This documentary pretends to enlighten Venezuelans and people around the world about the historical events that led to our current social, moral, economic crisis, through the analysis of different information sources and interviews to the protagonists of various moments of Venezuelan history.
Also, the purpose of the documentary is to reflect the objective truth, fighting against the bias imposed or chosen by all the main media and the traditional press superpowers (private or state-run). Currently, there are two or more alternate, distorted, incomplete realities clashing or preventing any dialogue between ordinary people. An asymmetric civil war may be around the corner, and those who will benefit from it, both in the dictatorial power and out of it, sustain the political game on plain lies. Venezuelan people, in general, is being dangerously fooled towards a dark future for the benefit of a minority: the Marxist party oligarchy of the country and their opportunist acolytes. My goal is to expose all the lies to give people the real power of knowledge and choice.
For this project, my headquarters will be in Quito, Ecuador, where I live and work since three years ago. In this beautiful town, I've participated in a film-making workshop at INCINE (2015), where the teachers considered me the best student of the group. My script for a short film was chosen as the best of the group, and I was appointed as the director, with the rest of my fellow students as my crew. Thanks to my experience at INCINE, I also got a valuable network of experts in the industry. I will get advice and guidance from the experts to complete this enormous task, and also will choose a team to produce the documentary series. That is why I ask for your support; this is a non-profit project for me, but I need to pay for professional equipment and the job of film-making experts. Besides, we will need to go to Venezuela and spend some time there, so I need to cover all those expenses.
According to a preliminary plan, the documentary series will consist of 12 episodes, chronologically presented and the idea is to offer it FOR FREE through a Vimeo channel so that anyone can have access to it. I will also give it FOR FREE to all the organizations and media around the world to encourage its dissemination. I'm a certified professional translator so that the series (originally in Spanish) will be subtitled in English and French, possibly in other languages too.
