Dental Hygienists for India

Hello, I am going to India for two weeks in January 2015.With a group called Dental Hygienists for India, which is a non profit organisation . The aims are to provide a sustainable and permanent solution to dental disease in rural areas of india. The organisation partners with KNH (KindernotHlife) and CCCYC (The churches Council of Child and Youth Care)located in Bangalore,India. We are going to assist in day care centres,hostels and school projects in the indian states of; Andhra Pradesh,Kerala,Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. While out in India we will be Educating and helping child workers to understand and recongnise dental disease along with screening for decay and inflammation, and determining which children need immediate dental treatment. We will also be teaching toothbrushing to all children and perform treatments on childrens teeth. We guide and supervise the implementation of daily brushing and create a better awareness of dental disease and how to prevent it. Through education and monitoring the DHFI aims to provide the building blocks for villagers to help themselves and provide better health for their children.
