My name is Glen Edward Del Pilar. I live in San Vicente Camarines Norte Philippines. I am married with two children namely Gabrian and Gabriel. Right now I am a sales representative in an aluminum window and door business. My interests is in farming and 3D designs using sketchup and AUTOCAD.
My love in farming still lingers in my mind. I want to help and solve the problems that our farmers still encounter today, unproductive land and empty purse due to high prices of chemical fertilizers and commercial feeds for our livestock and poultry.
When I was a kid I help in doing some farming chores as my grandma asked me to do like planting camote, pineapple, rice, peanut, taro, maize, banana etc etc. Each time we went to the field she always complains back then when she was alive that she observed that the plants we sow are no longer productive as they were before, they do not need chemical fertilizer before. She said if she will not put complete fertilizer and urea, plants will no longer bear good fruits and roots. I always hear from her that the world is nearing to its end because the soil is not productive anymore. The questions sink into my young mind maybe there is a problem with the soil? But what is the problem?
As I grew and graduated from college and worked from different companies my longing to become a full time farmer is within me. That's why I attended a seminar they call it JADAM a Korean farming system and natural farming seminar by Sir Andry Lim from Davao City, Philippines. From this seminars I learn why the soil is not productive anymore? Why we have life threatening sickness? Because of the food we eat. Why we have different environmental issues like desertification and acid rains. Why our food prices are increasing yearly.
My dream is to create a model farm to teach what I have learned from these seminars and create a group of farmers who grow and raised delicious, healthy and safe food for everyone. As our resource speaker and teacher wrote and says during the seminar "heal the soil, heal the people and help the poor".
With your help I can teach farmers and those interested people to learn this method of farming by providing them hands on training. Together we can help save our environment by making and using natural fertilizer in our soil. Together we can help a lot of people by offering them options to choose chemical free food. By empowering our farmers with this farming knowledge we can lower the production costs and therefore we can lower the price of foods. Which in turn help poor families to buy affordable food. We can help our poor farmer to become a true farmer again by giving back the knowledge of farming that has been lost from them.
