FIGHT Stage 4 Cancer with Vilma

This campaign is for my aunt, Vilma Francisco.

“Vilma, Ma’am Vi, or Mang Vim”

She lives independently, not married, and has no children. She always told us that she didn’t see herself having her own kids because we, her nieces and nephews, are already enough. She helped our moms (her sisters) raise us since we were children, making her one of the most selfless person I know. She’s an engineering teacher in Universidad de Zamboanga and has been teaching for 25 years. However, she is now forced to retire because of her current condition.

Mang Vim is diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, which already spread out to her lungs and possibly might mutate to her other organs if not treated quickly and aggressively. She had her first major operation (1st and only operation her entire life), last July 2019, which removed her ovaries, uterus, and appendix. Everything costed about half a million pesos. The doctors saw how aggressive the tumor is and suggested that she do her chemo as soon as possible.

This is why we are here. We need to stop the cancer from spreading further with an aggressive approach (nano tech) in her treatement to help her survive and live a longer life. She is a fighter and very optimistic in everything she goes through. With her superbly positive attitude, one of her future goals is to get well so that she could go back to teaching, a passion she loves dearly.

Her lifetime savings is far from enough to meet her medical bills. We are reaching out to whoever has the heart to extend help, so that she may triumph over this battle that she is facing right now. Any amount can go a long way and will forever be appreciated by her and our family.
