Transforming Lives: Support My Bariatric Surgery

I am Daniel Méndez, I am 29 years old, married, born and raised in a small town in the central area of Chile.

Throughout my life I have struggled with obesity that has brought me many problems, both emotional and physical, from bullying in my childhood and adolescence to discrimination when it comes to finding work.

I have fought it, for many years I was on a diet with a nutritionist and doctors, but this did not work since the origin of the disease was deeper, it was a chronic anxiety that caused binge eating, making me addicted to food. About 1 year ago, my nutritionist told me that I couldn't stop exercising, which I usually do as my social networks show, since due to my insulin resistance if I stopped exercising I would definitely have type 2 diabetes.

Unfortunately, even when I am disciplined with this, I cannot lose 135 kilos, I always stay there, even when I maintain my diet and physical activity, due to the metabolic and hormonal disorder that caused me to have insulin resistance from a very young age.

This campaign aims to fund the bariatric surgery necessary to improve my health and quality of life. With your help, I can take a significant step toward a healthier, happier life. I want to have children, but I don't want them to inherit my illnesses, so I want to be healthy for it. I want to live longer with my wife and future children, but this is holding me back.
