We recently put Cairns on the map to the world of ballet by being featured on the World Ballet Day Live by the Australian Ballet. Now we would like to present Cairns to Los Angeles, California. We have been invited to attend the 30th Annual International Conference and Festival of Blacks in Dance.

This festival gathers administrators, artists, choreographers, dance companies, directors, educators, scholars, and those interested in artistry, black dance issues, and performance presentations. The conference and festival is hosted by Lula Washington Dance Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

This years theme is Honouring Legacies: Past, Present, and Future. As the International Association of Blacks in Dance values Biddigal's knowledge and experiences, they have asked us to contribute through the sharing of our dance form.

As many of our performers are completing accreditation in the performing arts, attending this conference is not only a great opportunity for the young performers to see creative and educational pathways on an International level, but will get to share their arts practice and methodologies with their International peers. Biddigal is comprised of Indigenous emerging artists and leaders aged between 12-18yrs.

We will be taking four of our performers to attend the conference. For us to attend the conference we will need to raise our own funds. Therefore, we are seeking either sponsorship or fundraising opportunities to assist in our attendance.

If you feel you can assist please feel free to donate.
