Damon’s Medical Treatment – Neuroblastoma

OUR NEPHEW IS A VERY ACTIVE, HAPPY AND SMART 4 1/2 BOY. HE IS INTO CARS OR ANYTHING THAT HAS WHEELS ON IT. HE ALWAYS ASK HOW A THING WORKS - ALWAYS CURIOUS. WE CALL HIM LITTLE MAN BECAUSE HE'S MATURE FOR HIS AGE. HE BARELY CRIES AND COMPLAIN. HE LIKES TO SING AND DANCE TOO!

On April 2021, Damon was brought to the ER because he was complaining about his tummy aching. His mom noticed a small bump on the lower left side of his stomach just right after the rib cage.

They ran some test and did a CT scan. The doctors found a tumor and he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. (Cancer of immature nerve cells arising from the adrenal gland, nerve ganglia or the neck. This causes abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, lumps of tissue under the skin, wheezing and weight loss).

His doctor was very honest that the road for Damon to get better is not cheap. For high risk patients, higher-dose chemo and new immune therapy combined with a stem cell transplant may be used. He will need surgery to remove the tumor but since his case is complicated - the tumor is wrapped around his left kidney and affected a large vein that mainly supplies blood to his body. As of now, his surgeon is not recommending for him to get the surgery due to his age and the size of the tumor. He has done 1 cycle of chemo and hopefully when the tumor is smaller they can remove it and move forward the treatment plan.

Damon has a twin brother, Mason and older sister Arabella. Their parents are both working and currently some of the expenses is not covered by the medical insurance and it's depleting.
