Campaign Story
Daisy Valdez from La Union ranks among the top Filipina surfers in the country. Dominating both longboard and shortboard divisions in local surf competitions, this petite mother of two is an all-around powerhouse in the water.
UPDATE: Sept. 8, 2017 - Daisy wins 1st Place in the Women's Longboard Division of the 2nd stop of RAST in Makinohara, Japan. She's in the lead for the overall title race!
Daisy can easily shift between different surfing styles. She can dance her way to the nose of a longboard and then attack the lip of a critical section with her shortboard. She is grace and power rolled into one.
There are only a handful of local surfers with the same surfing prowess that Daisy has. This is why Daisy was chosen to compete in the 2017 RENextop Asian Surfing Tour (RAST), a prestigious surfing event known not only in Asia but all over the world!
Competitors from Australia, Indonesia, China, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines were invited to compete in two categories: The Longboard Division and The Shortboard Division.
Daisy is our candidate for both divisions! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
The RAST is a points race, meaning the Championship Title will be awarded to the participant with the most number of points from each station of the tour. There are 4 stations in this tour:
1st station (June 8-11, 2017) - Pererenan Beach, Bali, Indonesia
Daisy was able to compete in Bali and she brought home a 2nd Place finish in the Longboard Division! She missed the 1st Place spot by merely 1 point, but instead of seeing this as a defeat, Daisy knows that this is leverage to earn more points in the upcoming stations of the tour.
2nd station (Sept 7-9, 2017) - Makinohara Beach, Shizuoka, Japan
Daisy brings home 1st Place for the Longboard Women's Division! She's now in the lead to win the championship title for the entire tour. Keep going, Daisy!
3rd station (Date TBA) - Philippines
4th station (Date TBA) - Hainan, China
Daisy is in it to win it. 🇵🇭
We need your help to send Daisy to the next stations of the RENextop Asian Surfing Tour. We are seeking support from the municipality of San Juan, La Union, from various women's groups, and from the entire Philippine surfing community to make this dream a reality. With your help, we can show the world what Filipino surfing talent looks like and we can grow the sport of surfing in our country!
Maraming salamat po! ♥️
