Daily wage workers in UAE fear hunger might kill them before Covid19!

How many of us know who a Migrant worker really is? We hear about the crisis. But do we know that the list of occupations include agriculture, domestic work, security service, work at brick kilns, automobile work, food processing, and building and construction work.

Do we know that an April 10 th article in the Frontline, revealed that out of 55 Lakh known migrant workers, 51 Lakh will not have access to govt aid – and this is in the construction industry alone!

The Govt is doing its best for these unregulated sectors but we decided to step up as active citizens and do our bit while the government sets it machinery in motion.

We have put together a 4 day ESSENTIALS KIT with nearly 25 items like rice, dal, vegetables, sugar, turmeric & ginger, salt in quantities sufficient for 16 meals of 2 a day. It also contains soap, sanitary pads, milk powder, etc. And we have a proved supply line for the same at special prices from well wishers. Our experience tells us that 4 Days is the right balance of supplies to ensure no wastage or misuse.

Additionally, all data of recipients as well as locations are provided by officials in the Corporation, a and the vehicles being used have requisite passes and follow all requisite hygiene process for the safety of the delivery team as well as the recipients.
